road to the healthy life @ 00:41
Everyday I've wondered what it would be like if I had clearer skin (don't get me wrong, I have clear skin but I keep having breakouts of acnes and blackheads and such) so I succumbed to the very fact of living healthy. Meaning I have to eat numerous amounts of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and
water. And here's the thing, I absolutely
despise water. I have no reason for this though, I just always thought that water was so damn tasteless and bland. If they made chocolate flavoured water, I would drink it every single day without fail.
Regrettably, my inner self told me otherwise. If I don't start drinking water, my chances of being fit are going to slim. I'm actually thin right now, but I decided that I needed to be more than thin. (There's a very huge difference between thin and healthy, I'll tell you this later.)
So starting today, May 24th, I shall start being healthy. Even if it's just a little.
I made a list on what should I eat everyday, call it a friendly reminder for my self esteem.
DAILY EATS:
- Nuts and fruits, preferably raisins, almonds, and walnuts;
- Water (if you're a hydrophobic like me, start slow like 3-4 glasses instead of 8-10);
- Green tea, my substitute for water at times;
- And a few cuts of leafy greens (try at times the Caesar's salad without the chicken, it's really good).
-
THREE-TIMES-A-WEEK EATS:
- Oily fish (and I don't mean the fishes dripping with excess oil, I meant fishes like salmon or sardines);
- Yogurt (Greek yogurt is recommended too, it has lesser carbon fat than the Yogurt you buy at grocery stores);
- And broccoli (two words: soy sauce).
ONCE-A-WEEK EATS:
- Red meat, I would definitely say steak for this. Tenderloin specifically, it has less fat.
- Pasta;
- And dessert, at least a few scoops of ice cream, not the whole gallon.
ZERO-TIMES-A-WEEK EATS:
- Basically anything fast food and greasy;
- Sodas;
- And anything with the word diet, they're called artificial sweeteners. If you think foods that are labelled with the word "diet" would help you with anything healthy, then you thought absolutely wrong.
There it is, my list. I actually had it written down, some of it derived from Alton Brown's Four List Eating plan from his show, Good Eats. You should watch it sometimes.
Aside from just eating healthy, I have to commit to being healthy too. My aunt asked me personally if she would like me to go to Gym every few days. I hesitantly agreed, but I realized sooner that it's a great way to be fit.
Anyways, I'll be back with new posts later on about my healthy living. It's gonna be fun! I hope.
